Getting started

Hey Everyone!

Our plans are starting to materialize for our dream wedding in Greece and we want to keep all of you up to date early and often! Our blog will be the best place to learn about all the details of our wedding as they become available. If you want instant updates, you can subscribe to the blog.

To date, we know that it will be July 3rd, 2010 in Greece on the island of Crete. Details about the exact venue, hotels and apartments near by and other events around the day will be up soon.

If you want to start thinking about planning your voyage, we do have a few suggestions/options for getting to Crete. There are several options, but I have distilled it down to the two most popular. Option 1, by air: You can fly directly to Crete from several european cities to the airport in Heraklion. Option 2, by sea: You can fly into Athens, spend a day (you will not want more than that) seeing the sites and then take a "Ferry" to Crete. The Ferries are very large boats and they are usually scheduled to be overnight travel where you leave around 8pm and arrive in the morning. The two major Ferry lines from Athens (the port is called Piraeus) are Anek lines and Minoan Lines. No need to book tickets on the Ferries right away. I have never had a problem purchasing a day (or an hour) in advance and the Ferries arrive to several of the cities in Crete so you should wait to find out the most convenient drop off point.

Talk to you all soon. More information to come...
